Colorado Mortgage

Founded in 1859, Boulder Colorado is celebrating its 150th birthday this year. It was the Colorado Gold Rush that brought miners to the area followed by the merchants that supplied the miners and their trade. Saloons, mining supply stores and churches were among the first buildings constructed in Boulder. In 1876, the State of Colorado was formed and the University of Colorado was established in Boulder.

The City of Boulder constructed the Boulderado Hotel in Downtown Boulder in 1909 to attract tourist to Boulder in the wake of a collapsing mining economy. It worked. Fast forward to the mid-1980's and another major Downtown Boulder renovation was constructed. The City closed 4-blocks of Pearl Street and converted them into a pedestrian mall. The road was replaced with trees, flowers, public art and gathering spaces with park benches. It worked again.

Through-out the year you will find the Pearl Street Mall filled with street performers entertaining visitors with juggling, music performance, dance demonstrations and magic. Within a few blocks, you will find Boulder's Central Park, access to the Boulder Creek Path and the Boulder County Farmers' Market.

Downtown Boulder has also seen a revitalization of residential real estate with the redevelopment of commercial properties into luxury condominiums and lofts. The mixed urban design includes retail and executive office space on the first floor with several residential floors above. Many of the buildings offer full security and concierge services which appeal to retirees and second-home owners.

West of the Boulder Downtown, you will find the original neighborhoods of Boulder closest to the Rocky Mountains. Historic Victorian houses nestled on tree lined streets mark these neighborhoods.  Imagine beginning each day by either walking to the Pearl Street Mall for a morning latte or walking to hiking trailheads leading into the foothills for a sunrise hike. Charming indeed.
